Ardèche - Drôme - Vercors

The wild expanses of the mountainous Vercors Plateau extend south and west from the foothills of the Alps towards the Ardèche, the Drôme and Provence. Leave the crowds behind and swim in the clear waters of the rivers or relax on their white sandy beaches. The region’s high plateaux, rocky outcrops, gorges (including the curious natural stone arch of the Vallon Pont d’Arc over the River Ardèche), beautiful chestnut woods and picturesque villages provide a stunning backdrop for hiking, canoeing, rafting or climbing. Local gastronomic specialities include herb- and cheese-stuffed ravioli, Picodon goat’s cheese and the better known Saint-Marcellin.
